Private Equity Staff / Fund Accountant

Responsibilities

Prepare / maintain fund accounting records, including capital account allocations, waterfall calculations, and investor allocations
Reconcile investment activity, including contributions, distributions, and capital calls
Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
Prepare support for annual regulatory compliance filings with the SEC
Manage the day-to-day accounting operations for private equity management companies
Perform accounts payable and receivable functions, cash reconciliations, and budgeting/forecasting
Assist with payroll and other administrative financial tasks
Initiate wire transfers
Prepare and review tax workpapers, including K-1s, partnership, and individual tax returns
Collaborate with tax advisors to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
Conduct basic tax research
Serve as a primary contact for client inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate communication
Assist with audits, investor relations, and regulatory filings as needed
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies to enhance client service

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting
0-3 years of experience in private equity fund accounting
Strong understanding of US GAAP, private equity accounting principles, and partnership structures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Preferred

Experience with Investran and CCH a plus
