Harris County District Attorney's Office is seeking Law Student Academic Interns for their Misdemeanor & Professional Development Bureau. Interns will work directly with experienced trial attorneys, assisting with trial preparation, research and writing, and observing court proceedings.

Responsibilities
First-Chair Trial Experience (with eligible bar card status)
Assistance with formal plea procedures
Trial preparation
Research and writing
Second-chair assistance with jury selection and jury trials
Accompany prosecutors to court to observe and help with court dockets, hearings, and trials
Complete additional assignments, specific projects, or observations as prescribed by their school or professors
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in an accredited law school
Undergraduate students considering law school
Eligible for bar card status (for first-chair trial experience)
Ability to work a maximum of 40 hours per week during the summer internship term
Completion of a full background check
Attendance at an in-person orientation prior to the start date
