Responsibilities
Lead cross-functional programs focused on integrating Somewear’s communications and data-routing capabilities into unmanned systems (air, ground, maritime)
Drive product roadmap and lifecycle from idea to production scale for unmanned systems across Somewear’s entire stack
Collaborate with go-to-market team members to develop and refine contract and other submissions for programmatic funding opportunities
Own program execution for government-funded R&D initiatives with a focus on unmanned systems - including timeline, milestone, and deliverable management in coordination with customer stakeholders
Partner with mechanical, electrical, software, and manufacturing engineers to deliver reliable, field-ready solutions that meet the rugged demands of unmanned and autonomous platforms
Coordinate integration efforts with third-party unmanned platform providers and government end users to ensure ease of adoption
Build and maintain strong technical relationships with key customers and vendors in the defense and aerospace ecosystem
Qualification
Required
Proven experience managing product development in a startup environment with a strong bias to action
Deep hands-on experience with unmanned systems (e.g. Group 1-5 UAS)
Familiarity with SDK development and API-based integration strategies for embedded systems
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to create clarity from ambiguity - synthesize customer feedback and first-principles thinking into crisp priorities that align engineering, operations, product, GTM, and customers
Technical fluency to partner with customers and engineers in shaping deployment and integration plans
Preferred
Experience developing and executing proposals for US government-funded programs (SBIR, APFIT, CRADA, etc.) a strong plus
