Responsibilities

Serve as the primary communications business partner to the leadership teams of both Development Science and Translational Medicine
Shape and execute tailored communications strategies and tactics that reflect the unique cultures and scientific priorities of each function while highlighting their shared contributions to gRED
Provide strategic counsel to senior leaders and act as a trusted advisor on how communications can drive engagement, alignment, and impact
Lead the development and execution of communications plans, including leadership messages, internal articles, newsletters, employee town halls, and digital/multimedia storytelling
Partner across gRED and with colleagues at Genentech and Roche to ensure alignment of messaging, strategy, and timing
Set goals and measure the effectiveness of communications through metrics and employee feedback
Actively cultivate a culture of experimentation, agility, and creativity, applying best practices to deliver innovative, high-impact communications

Required

BS/BA required
8–10 years of experience in a communications role within a large, matrixed organization
Biotech or pharma experience, ideally in research, early development, translational medicine, or development science
Proven track record in both strategic communications planning and hands-on content creation and channel management
Extensive experience developing messaging and communication strategies that engage employees and support business goals
Demonstrated ability to engage directly with senior management, with minimal oversight
Strong understanding of executive communications, employee engagement, and event management

Preferred

Science background strongly preferred
Experience in change management communications is a plus
Experience in both internal and external communications a plus
Consulting experience a plus
