BHU0019 Activity Coordinator
South Arkansas Regional Hospital is seeking an Activity Coordinator to manage the Activity Program in compliance with established standards and regulations. The role involves planning, organizing, and directing activities to enhance the wellbeing of residents by addressing their physical, mental, and psychosocial needs.

Responsibilities
Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired regarding person, financial, medical or employment of patients, families, and employees of SARH
Must follow and enforce accepted safety practices for patients and SARH
Must report hazards and initiate appropriate action
Must participate in safety instructional programs
Develop and implement policies and procedures for the identification of medically related social and emotional activity needs of the resident
Plan, develop organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the activity programs of the Behavioral Health Unit
Assist the Mental Health Counselor in the Planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing of the social service programs of this facility
Participate in discharge planning, development, and implementation of activity care and social care plans and resident assessment
Perform administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms, reports, written and oral recommendations etc., and submitting such to the Director as required
Record and maintain regular Social Service progress notes indicating response to the treatment plan and/or adjustment to institutional life
Observe resident attendance, mood behavior, and degree of evolvement so that facility activities and residents progress are evaluated, by mailing, reporting, and charting residents
Involve residents/families in planning facility activity programs
Coordinate activities with other departments, interpret the department policies and procedures to employees, residents, visitors, government agencies, etc
Assist the Infection Control Coordinator in identifying, evaluating, and classifying routine and job-related activity functions to ensure that tasks involving potential exposure to blood/body fluids are properly identified and recorded
Assist in interpreting social, psychological, and emotional need of the resident/family to the medical staff, attending physician, and other resident care team members
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Licensed/certified qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional in the State of Arkansas or eligible to obtain said license/ certification
Licensed Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant in Arkansas
Must have completed an alternative training course approved by the State of Arkansas
A minimum of two (2) years' experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or other medical related facility is required
High school diploma or GED equivalent is required
Preferred
An applicable college/degree is preferred but not required
