FPGA Engineer (Engineer Hardware 3) - 25555
Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a FPGA Engineer to join their dynamic team in Dayton, Ohio. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing FPGA-based solutions for cutting-edge projects in various domains, including signal processing.
Responsibilities
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
Qualification
Required
5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience
Position requires interest in either Radar or Electronic Warfare System design and/or testing
Tasking includes RF chain analysis and radar system performance analysis, as well as all aspects of test execution
Interest in EW and Radar Signal Processing Techniques, Sensor System Integration and Test, and Electronic Warfare and Radar Performance Analysis Tools such as MATLAB is required
Hands-on test, integration, and verification support across lab facilities requiring skills in algorithms, software, hardware, and networking
Support technical publications in developing for customer releases test planning, test procedures, and test reports
Support technical and functional leadership through the identification of risk
Must be willing to travel for extended periods of time. Deployment times will vary and typically last between two and three weeks
Must be able to bend, reach, stoop and lift up to 50 lbs
Must be able and willing to work outside in adverse weather conditions
Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with advanced security checks
Secret clearance minimum to start
May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment
Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances
