Start in 2026 SpringThe J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. They are seeking a Chemical Engineering / Chemistry Intern to support the mining of phosphate ore and the production of fertilizers, focusing on product development and process refinements. This full-time internship is tailored for students pursuing a Chemical Engineering or Chemistry degree, starting May 2026.

Responsibilities
Performs routine aspects of chemical engineering / chemistry requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering / chemistry principles under close supervision
May use computer-assisted software and equipment to perform engineering/chemistry tasks
Assists with lab and pilot-scale testing and evaluation occurring both indoors and outdoors
Collects and prepares data for evaluation
May assist in the coordination of projects from conception (feasibility) through final plan preparations
Handles various administrative duties
Provides support to staff members as needed
May provide support for multiple facilities across the Mining & Manufacturing business unit located in California, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming
Qualification
Required
Working toward a BS in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
Strong attention to detail
Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team environment
Able to keep up in a fast paced work environment
Fluent in Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel
