Mission Operations Engineer, MUSV

They are seeking a Mission Operations Engineer to execute on-water technical operations, lead testing of autonomous platforms, and streamline operational processes. The role requires hands-on leadership, problem-solving skills, and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities
Operate Saronic assets during mission phases, including launch, recovery, escort, and safety overwatch for ASV operations
Support personnel in utilization of operations technology
Coordinate daily tests and testing campaigns
Maintain detailed logs of operational behavior and performance in order to provide feedback to varying teams throughout Saronic
Support daily operations of Marauder
Support processes improvement throughout product and company
Provide technical troubleshooting for autonomous vessels and command and control software
Conduct root cause analysis
Ability to interpret nautical charts, weather forecasts, and navigational tools to support mission planning and execution
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering, or equivalent experience in a related field
Experience in maritime operations, particularly with autonomous or unmanned systems
Experience with command and control software
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make quick decisions under pressure
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
Achieved consistent success in managing timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations
STCW Basic Safety Training (or willingness to complete), TWIC (if required), current marine medical certificate, and valid passport
Must be able to pass a background check and USCG/DOT drug testing
Ability to certify as 'fit for work' by demonstrating ability to swim and tread water
Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 75 lbs
Must be able to operate in daylight, low-light, and night conditions using marine navigation systems and visual cues
Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours/day
The ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
Preferred
Prior experience working with the DoD or other government agencies
Background in U.S. maritime environments and practices
Prior boating experience
Background in marine engineering, marine electrical, or related trade
Security clearance eligibility preferred
