Responsibilities
Help on of our clients build and improve core back-end communication services, processing pipelines and storage platforms
Tackle challenges around performance optimization, parallelization, and scalability that come with the data demands of a high-traffic, constantly growing, and public website
Qualification
Required
Have a BS or MS in Computer Science or equiv
4+ years' experience programing data driven applications in Java or PHP making heavy use of SQL, preferably MySQL
Experience with batch data processing
Have experience with high volume data pipeline or high availability queuing systems
Love to work with open source technologies like Hadoop, activeMQ, Kafka, Zookeeper, MySQL, PHP
Live to break down and solve complex problems by creating practical, maintainable, and scalable solutions- Desire to be constantly learning new things
Excellent communication skills & attention to detail
Are able to handle multiple competing priorities in an agile, fast-paced environment
Are a great person that willingly collaborates, listens, and cares about your peers
Experience with Unix/Linux and scripting
Preferred
Ideal candidate would have experience with high volume email systems and familiarity with Lucene/Solr
