Managing Court Reporter I

The Colorado Judicial Branch is dedicated to providing equal access to justice and public safety. The Managing Court Reporter I will manage Realtime court reporting services and supervise a team of court reporters, ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely reporting for court proceedings.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Supervises the work of assigned court reporters, including scheduling, assigning, and reviewing work, providing guidance, hiring, training, and conducting performance evaluations
Provides Realtime, verbatim court reporting services through stenographic shorthand for jury trials, preliminary hearings, motions hearings, and any applicable requested court proceedings
Maintains backlog of transcripts, production, distribution, and management of transcript invoicing for all requested proceedings
Ensures backup of all stenographic notes, rough drafts, and completed transcripts
Attends mandatory Judicial Department trainings and continuing education to maintain certification
Performs administrative and clerical duties related to the court, including maintaining files and court documents
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Associate's degree or 2 years of college
3 to 5 years of experience in court reporting
RPR certification
Ability to provide Realtime court reporting services
Ability to supervise and monitor performance for a regular group of employees
Ability to perform administrative and clerical duties related to the court
Ability to maintain backlog of transcripts, production, distribution, and management of transcript invoicing
Ability to attend mandatory Judicial Department trainings and continuing education to maintain certification
Ability to perform assigned essential functions satisfactorily
Ability to exert up to 35 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects
