2025-2026 General Counseling Internship- Juvenile Justice, IYC
Youth Outreach Services is seeking Counseling Interns to support youth ages 12-21 dealing with mental health and substance use challenges. As a Counseling Intern, you will provide individual counseling sessions, complete intake assessments, and conduct group and family counseling sessions.

Responsibilities
Provide weekly individual counseling sessions to assist youth with mental health or substance use issues
Complete intake assessments and maintain accurate client progress notes
Use the 7 Challenges Program to guide youth through decision-making regarding drug and alcohol use
Communicate with referral sources (courts, probation officers, schools, hospitals, etc.)
Conduct group and family counseling sessions and participate in home or school visits as needed
Qualification
Required
Master's-level student in counseling or social work
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred
Minimum 16 hours per week (24 hours preferred)
Experience in individual and group therapy
Experience in case management and treatment planning
