Comptroller - Residential Appraiser (West Central Texas District)
The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts is committed to public service and innovation, serving as Texas' accountant, tax collector, and treasurer. They are seeking a Comptroller - Residential Appraiser to provide technical assistance on property tax issues, conduct property appraisals, and prepare economic reports within the West Central Texas region.

Responsibilities
Apply local cost modifier, develop land schedules based on sales, consult industry publications, and gather income and expense information on commercial properties.Assign sale, costs, and income information related to each property appraisal. Inspect properties and contact real buyers and sellers for information on the property’s real estate market value
Prepare economic or statistical reports. Examine and verify real estate records to determine property ownership, incomes, and expenses in connection with real estate ownership
Participate in formal and informal appeals. Provide testimony in legal proceedings
Qualification
Required
Graduation from High School or GED
Six (6) years of appraisal work such as residential, commercial or personal property
A valid Texas (or state of residency) driver's license and a satisfactory driving record are a condition of employment
Applicants offered an interview must present the following documents at or before the interview: A state issued driving record for the last 36 months; valid Texas driver's license (or state of residency driver's license); and current proof of automobile insurance
An applicant must be eligible to work in the United States to be hired at the Comptroller's office and must remain eligible, without sponsorship or any assurance of financial or other assistance from this agency, during the term of their employment
Preferred
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, management or real estate
Eight (8) years of residential appraisal experience utilizing the cost and market approach
Appraiser II requires an appraiser to hold a Level IV RPA designation or another professional appraiser designation
