Production Operator (Pre Polish)

Balfour & Co is a company specializing in jewelry manufacturing, and they are seeking a Production Operator to prepare jewelry pieces for final polishing and finishing. The role involves inspecting jewelry, performing pre-polishing tasks, and ensuring quality standards are met before the polishing stage.

Consumer Services

Responsibilities

Inspect raw or cast jewelry pieces for defects, excess material, or inconsistencies

Perform pre-polishing tasks such as filing, sanding, grinding, and buffing using hand tools or machinery

Sand tops of ring on sandpaper with back and forth motions

Polish tabs with small felt wheel and with diamond compound

Polish top of ring with white compound and medium felt wheel mounted on bench motor using side wheel

Wash ring in degreaser

Maintain consistency in surface preparation to ensure optimal results in the final polish

Handle precious metals and stones with care, following safety and handling protocols

Collaborate with quality control to identify and correct imperfections

Keep accurate records of work completed and report any production issues

Clean and maintain workstations, tools, and equipment

Follow production schedules and meet daily output targets

Required

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in jewelry or metalwork is a plus

Experience in jewelry manufacturing or similar precision work preferred
