The role involves monitoring, reading, interpreting, and communicating EKG rhythms from the central station to health providers, while coordinating communication with nursing units and other healthcare departments.

Must pass the cardiac monitoring class during the orientation process, which includes testing in A&P and basic rhythm detection
Must have current CPR certification
