Stress Analysis Engineer

Responsibilities

Identify and/or develop and apply critical load cases
Perform static, stability and vibration analysis of metallic and composite structures
Develop, test, validate and qualify aero-structural designs
Employ classical hand calculations and finite element methods
Knowledgeable of materials testing and characterization methods
Analyze design risks, anticipate and mitigate risks when possible, and report concerns to team leads and program management
Work efficiently in an environment without the need for regular, direct oversight
Familiarity with military and FAA airworthiness standards and certification process
Familiarity with fatigue and damage tolerance

Required

BS with 5 years of experience or Advanced Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Composites Engineering
Experience in mechanical / structural design and analysis
Experience with FEMAP/Nastran or similar
Must be eligible to obtain and/or maintain a Secret Clearance
Writing and communication skills with experience contributing to and/or making technical presentations to internal and external customers

Preferred

Experience with CAD tools such as Catia V5 desired
Active clearance is preferred
