Mechanical Engineer

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, ensuring energy efficiency and sustainability while collaborating with various project stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Engage in daily communication with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary team members to address project needs
Design HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems for a variety of commercial, educational, and institutional facilities, emphasizing energy efficiency and sustainability
Work closely with architects, engineers, and technicians from initial design phases to final construction documentation and field inspections
Research and apply relevant codes, LEED principles, and best practices to designs
Balance multiple project priorities and deadlines with precision and organization
Utilize Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and scheduling and demonstrate proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit for project design and Bluebeam for team communication
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Minimum 10 -15 years of experience in HVAC and fire protection design, including energy-efficient solutions for both new builds and retrofits
Experience in projects for commercial, educational, and institutional sectors
Proficiency with load calculations software
Strong organizational skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook for effective calendaring and communication
Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse personalities
Creative problem-solving abilities and the capability to work independently and within a team structure
Highly organized, adaptable, and self-sufficient, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to travel for local and regional projects as needed
Preferred
Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred
Project Management experience is a plus
