Responsibilities

Leads moderate to high level engineering projects for factory support, warranty, and performance improvements under the supervision of the department manager
Work cross-functionally and globally with Quality & Reliability Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, Service & Support, Marketing, and numerous other departments
Lead tradeoff discussions with a focus on Performance, Cost, and Schedule
Assist in developing comprehensive plans to meet project targets
Monitor & track project progress and provide regular project status updates to senior management and the project team
Visit the manufacturing facilities and suppliers and provide troubleshooting analysis as required
Request and perform tests per established procedures
Interpret data and make corresponding design recommendations including but not limited to: Utilization of computer aided simulation tools, Selection of materials and heat treatments, Tolerance stacks and deviation analysis, Selection and evaluation of lubricant properties and uses, Statics and dynamics, Noise and vibration analysis, Interact with suppliers to develop part and product specifications that meet performance requirements while falling within process capabilities

Required

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or educational equivalent is required
Minimum of 7 years of relevant working experience
Ability to travel internationally & domestically to global manufacturing and service facilities (<10% travel)
Ability to manage several simultaneous projects is required
Highly developed mechanical aptitude is required including a broad knowledge of engineering materials used in power tools and a basic understanding of manufacturing processes
To be successful in this role you will need to be a self-starter with a strong problem-solving mentality
Understanding of DFMA and various cost drivers associated with materials, labor & overhead is required

Preferred

Preferred degree in Mechanical Engineering
PMP/CAPM certification is a plus but not required
