The University of Colorado Boulder is seeking an assistant professor specializing in environmental justice and information/technology within the Department of Information Science. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, mentoring students, and conducting high-quality research that intersects these fields, while contributing to the department's growth and commitment to inclusive excellence.

We expect the successful candidate to take a strong role in the organizational and intellectual life of the growing department. The candidate should be prepared to teach and mentor students at all levels and to offer courses that currently exist in our curriculum as well as those that complement and extend our curriculum. Through their teaching, the successful candidate will also critically examine, challenge, and expand upon traditional information science curricula and pedagogies and build interdisciplinary connections across the college and campus
We encourage applications from scholars with a proven ability to carry out high-quality research that resonates with an information science perspective and a desire to direct future scholarly interests toward this field. They must have a commitment to instructing at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. They are expected to have deep familiarity with the academic workplace, and a willingness to take an active part in the life of the department and college's advancement of inclusive excellence

Required

Ph.D. in all fields relevant to the study of environmental justice and information/technology, including Information Science, Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, Communication, Science and Technology Studies and others
Proven ability to carry out high-quality research that resonates with an information science perspective
Desire to direct future scholarly interests toward the field of information science
Commitment to instructing at both the undergraduate and graduate levels
Deep familiarity with the academic workplace
Willingness to take an active part in the life of the department and college's advancement of inclusive excellence

Preferred

Candidates who employ Indigenous research methods in their scholarship are particularly encouraged to apply
