Responsibilities

Perform structural analysis and calculations for aluminum pergola systems, including foundations, beams, posts, and connections

Develop stamped engineering documents and drawings where required

Evaluate custom project requests and determine feasibility based on site conditions and load requirements

Collaborate with product development on testing, prototypes, and certifications

Partner with sales and design teams to review proposals and ensure structural compliance

Support manufacturing with design adjustments that improve production efficiency

Provide engineering support for field installation challenges and dealer inquiries

Maintain documentation of calculations, approvals, and design standards

Required

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain within 12 months

5 - 15 years structural engineering experience, preferably in aluminum or light metal construction

Strong knowledge of wind, snow, and seismic load design

Proficiency with structural analysis software (e.g., RISA, STAAD, SAP 2000, or similar)

Familiarity with fabrication and installation practices for aluminum structures

Strong communication skills, with ability to explain technical requirements to non-engineering audiences

Preferred

Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
