OT Systems Engineer

They are seeking an OT Systems Engineer to act as a liaison between IT and OT, implementing and maintaining manufacturing systems, troubleshooting issues, and supporting cybersecurity initiatives in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary technical liaison between Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) teams to align business goals with technology solutions
Implement and support manufacturing systems like SCADA, MES, and HMI, ensuring secure and reliable data flow between plant floor equipment and enterprise systems
Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, performing root cause analysis in collaboration with cross-functional teams to minimize operational downtime
Support cybersecurity initiatives by assisting with system patching, configuration, and audits to maintain the integrity and security of industrial networks
Lead change initiatives and support the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes through the evaluation and implementation of new technology
Document and maintain system configurations, network diagrams, and OT asset inventory to ensure compliance and efficient management
Provide hands-on support for critical incidents, system rollouts, and plant expansions, including after-hours support when necessary

Required

Bachelor's degree in a related technical field (IT, engineering, computer science) is preferred, along with at least 2 years of experience supporting IT or OT systems in a manufacturing setting. A minimum of 4 years of experience is required for non-degreed candidates
Deep working knowledge of industrial control systems, including SCADA, MES, and HMI, as well as industrial network protocols like Ethernet/IP and OPC UA
Foundational understanding of the Purdue Model and a familiarity with cybersecurity principles for industrial networks (e.g., IEC 62443). Experience with network devices like switches and firewalls is highly valued
Proficiency in database management (SQL/NoSQL) and basic scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python
Proven ability to methodically troubleshoot hardware and software issues, with a willingness to provide hands-on, off-hours support for critical incidents

Preferred

Certifications in relevant areas like CompTIA A+, Security+, or ITIL are highly desirable
