NEOGOV is looking for an Environmental Enforcement Technician Intern to join the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans. This role involves training in the enforcement of environmental laws and conducting enforcement activities related to water pollution control, including inspections, monitoring, and public education.

Responsibilities

Training level work in the enforcement of environmental or water pollution control laws and other environmental requirements mandated by state and federal agencies including the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ, etc.)
Conducting a range of enforcement activities related to the Stormwater, Backflow Prevention and Pretreatment sections and implementing programs and policy
Information collection, inspection, monitoring, sampling, and public education; and related work as requested

Required

High School Diploma or GED
A valid driver's license
An Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Geology or closely related course
