Behavioral Health Psychologist
KinwellHealth is dedicated to providing personalized, holistic care and is seeking a Behavioral Health Psychologist to join their primary care team. The role involves conducting psychological assessments, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with medical staff to improve patient care and outcomes.

Responsibilities
Conduct psychological assessments, including clinical interviews, standardized screeners, and behavioral observations
Conduct diagnostic evaluations in alignment with DSM-5 criteria, while considering holistic factors such as lifestyle, physical health, and social context within the PCBH framework
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other integrative therapy approaches
Integrate holistic and mind-body interventions such as mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), relaxation techniques, and sustainable lifestyle interventions into treatment plans to enhance overall well-being
Assist patients in overcoming barriers and adhering to treatment plans developed by medical clinicians
Provide referrals to community resources, inpatient services, or specialty care as needed
Work collaboratively with medical providers, specialists, care coordinators, and other health professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to care
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to provide psychological insights on patient engagement and progress, treatment strategies, and holistic care planning
Offer psychological consultation and training to medical staff on mental health issues, stress management, and behavioral medicine interventions
Provide clinical consultation to BH clinicians either in person, by video, or by telephone
Assist in, or when appropriate, take over care of medically complex patients whose needs surpass those of a BHC
Educate medical clinicians and other clinic team members as well as patients and their families on mental and behavioral health conditions, psychological aspects of chronic disease management, stress management, healthy lifestyle choices, and wellness strategies
Promote the integration of mental health with physical care, creating resources and guiding patients toward self-management and resilience-building techniques
Promote mental health awareness and preventative care practices with physical healthcare, through presentations, creation of resources, and informal engagement to promote resilience-building and stress management strategies for entire clinic population
Contribute to the development of holistic behavioral health programs within the clinic, including wellness initiatives, behavioral interventions, harm reduction principles, and integration of mental health within primary care
Identify, develop, and pilot new pathways to improve patient outcomes, reduce barriers, and deliver more services in the context of primary care
Cultivate on-going clinical development of BHCs through team training, consultation, active engagement in team discussions, and being a visible champion of integrated care
Stay informed on the latest research in clinical psychology and holistic health care, applying new insights and evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes
Maintain accurate and thorough clinical documentation of patient encounters, assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in the clinic’s electronic health record (EHR) system
Ensure that all clinical work adheres to ethical guidelines, confidentiality standards, and legal requirements for psychological practice
Participate in peer review of EHR documentation, ensuring accurate and ethical standards across the BH team
Qualification
Required
Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or related field from an accredited institution
Licensed or license-eligible (licensed within a year of start date) as a Clinical Psychologist in the state of Washington
Ability to see patients of all ages, including children and adolescents
Well-developed analytical, interpersonal, and therapeutic skills and the ability to work closely with a diverse staff and patient population
Established therapeutic style, grounded in theory and training in empirically proven models, that can be applied to the wide range of issues seen in primary care
Proficiency in evidence-based interventions (CBT, DBT, ACT, mindfulness, etc.)
Skilled in providing patient-centered care and empathy
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively on an interdisciplinary team of diverse staff with a diverse patient population
Knowledge of holistic and integrative approaches to behavioral health care
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced clinical environment
Proficiency incorporating technology into patient care (e.g., conducting virtual visits and utilizing electronic health records)
Preferred
Three (3) years of clinical experience in a behavioral health setting
Experience working with patients under the age of 18
Experience working in a healthcare clinic or primary care setting
Experience working on an interdisciplinary team
