They are seeking a Sr. Principal Software Engineer to join the GMD Weapon System Fire Control software team, where the successful candidate will develop software for missile defense systems and support reviews of requirements and test cases.

Responsibilities
Write software that evaluates and manages the threat scene for the missile defense system
Understand, implement, and test existing and new capabilities and algorithms
Participate in code modernization and translation of Ada code to C++
Support reviews of requirements and test cases developed in support of the GFC software team
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 6 years of related experience, or 4 years of experience with a PhD
Recent and extensive Experience Developing Software in Ada, C++ or Java
Willingness to become highly proficient with Ada software development
Extremely Strong Math and Physics background required
Quick to learn and absorb new concepts and information
Unix/Linux Operating System Experience
Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment
Ability and willingness to travel up-to 10% to support business needs
Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
Preferred
Advanced degree in mathematics or physics
Highly experienced with Linux, scripting, and operations
Experience with automated, software requirements testing and analysis
Experience with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) program
Experience with Agile Project Management tools (Jira/Confluence) and DevSecOps tools and methods (Jenkins, Ansible, Git/Bitbucket) of continuous integration/continuous delivery and deployment (CI/CD) automation
Recent MATLAB and Python Experience
Experience with processing multi-sensor, multi-spectrum sensor tracks with multiple biases
