PCC: Equestrian ACCESSIBLE PROGRAMMING REPRESENTATIVE

AmeriCorps is seeking an Equestrian Center Programming Representative to advocate for and enhance outdoor recreation opportunities within Polk County Conservation. This role focuses on expanding Veteran programming and ensuring equal access to Polk County’s natural resources through equine-assisted activities and community outreach.

Responsibilities

Design and lead at least one equine-assisted service for Veterans and their families
Develop programs to support emotional well-being through horse interaction
Build relationships with Veteran service orgs and healthcare providers in Polk County to identify participants
Communicate with partners via phone and email to share and promote opportunities
Support outreach by taking photos (with consent) for social media and the Jester Park Equestrian Center website
Work with staff to expand and improve Veteran programs with new activities and outreach
Educate participants on the benefits of equine-assisted activities and outdoor recreation
Monitor participant progress through check-ins and surveys
Participate in professional development and support other approved AmeriCorps activities
