Responsibilities

Teach the standard faculty load of twelve (12) semester hours per semester or twenty-four (24) semester hours per academic year
Post and maintain a regular schedule of at least one office hour per week for each credit hour of instruction
Provide instruction (teach class) for the length of time listed in the official schedule
Prepare and grade a midterm and a final exam or project for each course
Provide each student with a course syllabus
Submit absentee and academic deficiency information to Academic Support Services via Trine’s We Care early alert system
Assist students experiencing academic difficulties and deficiencies
Advise prospective and current students regarding course scheduling and curriculum requirements
Providing mentoring and career guidance to students
Participate in developing or implementing the department's strategic plan, as requested by the department chair
Assist the department chair with scheduling and resource allocation issues, curriculum and laboratory development, and the collection, analysis, and reporting of assessment data
Perform additional duties and complete assignments as prescribed by the respective department chair, school dean, and vice president for academic affairs

Required

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a closely related field by the contract start date

Attention to duty and a desire for self-improvement
Ability to instruct aerospace, aeronautical and mechanical engineering courses
Ability to advise students regarding academic issues
