Data Center Engineer – Louisiana
iConvergence is an IT consulting firm seeking a skilled Data Center Engineer to manage and maintain data center infrastructure. The role involves ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of data center operations while supporting enterprise IT initiatives.

Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and manage VMware-based virtualization environments, including vSphere and vCenter, to support critical business applications
Administer and optimize Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and hybrid cloud integrations
Implement and manage Microsoft Intune for mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM), ensuring secure and efficient device operations
Configure and maintain Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory) for identity and access management, including single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and role-based access control (RBAC)
Monitor data center performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and disaster recovery capabilities
Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and patching of customer’s data center systems, ensuring minimal downtime
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support IT projects, including cloud migrations, system integrations, and security enhancements
Maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and procedures related to data center operations
Ensure compliance with industry standards and security policies, including data protection and privacy regulations
Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members and end-users as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of experience in data center operations or a similar role
Proven expertise in VMware virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi)
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid cloud solutions
Proficiency in Microsoft Intune for device management, including policy configuration and compliance enforcement
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID for identity and access management
Familiarity with data center hardware, including servers, storage, and networking equipment
Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is a plus
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Relevant certifications (e.g., VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator) are highly desirable
Preferred
Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) is a plus
Knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices
Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery solutions
Understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices
