Summer Internship - Process Engineering

This internship offers a unique opportunity for a junior or senior-level Chemical Engineering student to gain hands-on experience in process engineering within a renewable diesel production facility, working alongside experienced engineers to support plant operations and contribute to real-world projects.

Responsibilities
Assist in monitoring plant operations and analyzing process data
Support troubleshooting efforts and contribute to process optimization initiatives
Participate in reviewing engineering documents such as PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications
Help evaluate opportunities for improving safety, efficiency, and throughput
Contribute to small-scale project development, including scope definition and cost analysis
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production and Maintenance
Participate in field walks and control room visits to gain exposure to plant operations and environmental compliance
Prepare and deliver an end-of-summer presentation summarizing key project contributions, learnings, and overall internship experience to engineering and leadership teams
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering (junior or senior standing)
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Strong interest in renewable fuels, refining, or oil & gas industries
Basic understanding of process engineering principles (e.g., heat transfer, fluid dynamics)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with CADD is a plus
Strong communication and analytical skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
