Data Engineer Intern

Responsibilities

Contribute as a member of the Data Infrastructure and Compliance Engineering squad to deliver data products and resolve data-related technical issues
Help build and manage automation tools and data pipelines that meet Data Governance and Data Security Standards
Assist in the development and maintenance of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates (e.g., Terraform) to provision and manage cloud data resources
Use Python and Scala to utilize Spark to collect and manage data at scale
Collaborate with the team to identify, design, and implement process improvements, including automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and re-designing infrastructure for greater reliability and performance
Help to support the engineering of distributed systems, frameworks, and design patterns, enabling efficient usage of Ibotta’s Data Lake
Evangelize Data Engineering and supporting capabilities with Platform and Analytics teams

Required

Juniors working towards a bachelor's degree with a focus in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics or related field

Possess a strong work ethic
Analytical and problem-solving abilities
Self-directed and self-motivated
Candidates must live in the United States
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
