Responsibilities
Receive, identify, and prepare patients; explain procedures and obtain cooperation
Perform general radiography across the body (portable, fixed, C-arm), including complex procedures (e.g., GI studies, IVPs, arthrography)
Select technical factors, position patients, operate radiographic equipment; ensure radiation safety
Prepare rooms, set sterile fields; assist with contrast administration under radiologist supervision
Process, send, and QA images in PACS; complete case editing and documentation in VistA/CPRS
Adhere to VASDHS protocols, infection control, and safety policies; maintain supplies and room readiness
Communicate findings/needs to radiologists, nursing, and leadership; escalate issues promptly
Participate in required VA trainings and quality programs
Qualification
Required
ARRT (R); California licenses in Radiography and Fluoroscopy (current/valid)
2+ years full-time, current general radiography experience within the last 3 years (2080 hrs/yr)
Demonstrated competence with portable/fixed X-ray and C-arm operations
BLS certification; fluent in English; PACS and EMR proficiency
