Responsibilities
Act as the engineering owner for prototype builds across multiple products
Translate design intent into practical build steps, processes, and checklists for technicians
Debug and resolve design/manufacturability issues directly with design engineers
Actively participate in design reviews to ensure manufacturability of design concepts
Capture lessons learned and feed them back into the design and production system
Source and coordinate quick-turn parts and prototype tooling
Partner with technicians to train, enforce standard work, and improve safety/ergonomics
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing engineering, or equivalent experience
1+ years in production manufacturing, process engineering, or industrialization (internship and school projects experience qualifies)
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills
Familiarity with GD&T, tolerance analysis, and process capability
Hands-on experience with shop floor processes (machining, welding, composites, additive manufacturing, assembly, test)
Willingness to be on the floor daily, working shoulder-to-shoulder with technicians
Preferred
Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or other high-rate production environments
Ability to operate autonomously in ambiguity with minimal documentation
“Get it built” mindset with a bias for speed
