Responsibilities

Maintain and enhance SPP’s Network, EMS, and Commercial Models, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
Support and improve key applications such as State Estimator, Alarm, RTCA, Load Forecasting, and Outage Scheduler
Coordinate system changes and enhancements, including testing and implementation of vendor software
Ensure compliance with change control procedures and SSAE16 control activities
Manage data exchanges (ICCP) and collaborate with neighboring systems for model consistency
Document methods, investigate system issues, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Provide leadership on modeling initiatives, facilitate stakeholder groups, and support budget development

Required

Bachelor's degree in mathematics, data science, engineering, related field, or equivalent work experience
Sr. Technical Analyst (6) years of job-related experience
Technical Analyst II - (2) years of job-related experience
Technical Analyst I - No experience required
Proficient using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of and compliance with SPP Policies and Procedures
Strong analytical skills
Availability for after-hours callout, and for on-call

Preferred

Advanced degree in economics, math, engineering or other related field of study
Working knowledge of EMS state-estimator and/or power flow software
Working knowledge of the Common Information Model (CIM) or other representations of utility models
Experience with data handling and analysis of large data sets (SQL, SQLite, HABITAT)
Hold an active NERC System Operator Certification
Electric Utility Industry experience
