Responsibilities

Instructs and prepares patients for radiographic/fluoroscopic examinations

Accurately performs radiological exams to department standards including technique, positioning, protocols and administration of contrast material

Assures quality of images presented to radiologist for interpretation and consults with doctor to obtain optimum quality

Follows protocols and participates in quality control programs, when appropriate

Completes assigned procedures in a timely manner and assists in preparing the operating/procedure room for the next procedure

Applies the prescribed procedures to competently perform radiology technician functions

Ensures compliance with all Florida radiological standards and regulations

Follows manufacturer’s specifications and OSHA guidelines when performing x-ray procedure

Correctly uses, cares for, cleans, and sterilizes instruments, supplies, and equipment as directed. Maintains adequate supplies to provide immediate availability during the procedure

Licensed Radiologic TechnologistAmerican Registry of Radiological TechnologistRadiologic Technology trainingBasic Life SupportRadiology experience

Required

Associate's Degree Radiologic Technology and/or Diploma/Equivalent Radiologic Technology

Completion of formal Radiologic Technology training in an AMA approved school for degree, or diploma by which the graduate would qualify as a Registered Radiologic Technologist

Licensed Radiologic Technologist in Florida

American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT)

Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred

1 year rad tech experience preferred
