Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Solutions Architect to assist the U.S. Army in implementing innovative cloud computing solutions. The role involves defining implementation architectures, engaging with customers, and being a subject matter expert on security related to customer applications.

Responsibilities
Owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects
Defining implementation architectures
Responding to RFPs
Developing a deep expertise in the AWS technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform
Being a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services
Providing thoughtful technical design and offering sensitivity to customer needs in the Defense markets for cloud computing
Leading efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solution architect community
Qualification
Required
8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Secret or above
Must be willing to travel within the US and Overseas 35%
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and currently possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance
Preferred
5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
Experience working with end user or developer communities
Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
Experience architecting infrastructure solutions using both Linux/Unix and Windows with specific recommendations on server, load balancing, HA/DR, & storage architectures
Executive Speaking and Presentation Skills White board, small and large group presentations
Technical – Web Services development/deployment experience, cloud computing
Operational – Web site/services operations, management, and security
Economic and business – RFP/Acquisition support; Technical architecture; understanding market trends; cost benefit analysis
Advisory/Consulting experience with Defense Department customers
