SALEM REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER is seeking a qualified Radiologic Technologist RT(R) to join their Medical Imaging Department. The primary purpose of this role is to perform various technical procedures for radiological diagnosis while ensuring patient care and safety.

Responsibilities

Perform assigned duties in an effective manner, in accordance with established policies and procedures, and as directed by your supervisor

Perform a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis

Care for a patient population which includes adolescents and geriatrics; identify the special needs of each patient according to age and respond appropriately

Perform other job related duties as assigned

Radiologic Technology CertificationOhio State Radiological LicenseRadiographic Procedures KnowledgeImage Processing KnowledgeMedical Terminology KnowledgePatient Care SkillsEmergency Response SkillsNursing Skills Knowledge

Required

High school graduate or equivalent

Verification of successful graduation from an AMA accredited radiography program and certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists

Verification of Ohio State Radiological License

General orientation and safety programs must be completed

Technologist should be able to reach full productivity in 60 working days

Has complete understanding of all common radiographic procedures, sterile techniques and some knowledge of nursing skills

Should possess basic knowledge of how an Imaging Department functions

Working knowledge of medical terminology is required

Has complete understanding of image processing and clerical procedures

Must be able to work with long term and acute care patients

Must be able to function effectively and efficiently in emergencies

Must be able to make quick decisions when necessary
