Responsibilities

Serve as Chair of Pediatrics and Physician in Chief of The University of Vermont Children’s Hospital
Lead a busy clinical department across the UVM Health Network
Oversee pediatric primary care, hospitalist, and nursery services at partner hospitals
Expand the research portfolio of the Department of Pediatrics
Mentor diverse faculty at all stages of career development
Promote inclusive and value-based care in clinical practice
Collaborate with numerous stakeholders to ensure high-quality care
Act as the voice of children in Vermont and Northern New York

Qualification

M.D.M.D./Ph.D.Board certification in PediatricsLeadership experienceInclusive leadershipValue-based care experienceMentorship skillsCollaborative skillsCommunication skills

Required

Must hold an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D
Board certification by the American Board of Pediatrics
Eligible for medical licensure in Vermont
Credentials appropriate for an appointment at the rank of associate professor or professor (clinical scholar or tenure pathway) at UVM
Proven and substantial leadership experience
Collaborative and inclusive leader
Strong track record of leadership and mentorship of diverse faculty at all stages of career development
Demonstrated experience in sponsored research
Desire to expand the research portfolio of the Department
Integrity, intellect, and ability to work collaboratively with numerous stakeholders
Core value of inclusive and equitable leadership
Vision of how a modern academic department of pediatrics thrives in an age where population health and high-value care are essential
Strong commitment to UVM's mission and advancing Our Common Ground values through their teaching, service, research, scholarship, or creative arts
