Assistant Professor in Creative Writing (Fiction)
The University of Florida is a major research university seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Creative Writing with a specialization in fiction. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, maintaining an active writing career, and contributing to departmental service and coordination.

Responsibilities
Maintain an active writing and publication career
Teach four courses per academic year at the undergraduate and graduate level
Mentor and advise undergraduate and graduate students
Contribute service to the Department, the university, and the profession
Help with MFA program coordination (e.g. events planning, admissions, student mentoring, curriculum oversight)
Engagement with Departmental committees and processes
Qualification
Required
Candidates for this rank shall hold the highest degree appropriate to their field or possess equivalent qualifications based on professional experience
A book or substantial record of literary works is required
Preferred
An MFA and/or PhD in Creative Writing is strongly preferred
We encourage applications from candidates who write in genres in addition to literary fiction, such as creative nonfiction, screenplays, YA fiction and/or children's literature, and graphic literature
We are also interested in candidates with service or administrative experience
