They are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to support their Internal Medicine practice by performing both administrative and clinical tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the clinical practice.

Responsibilities

Assist with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments as directed by physicians
Take and record patient vital signs, medical history, and other relevant information
Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies
Administer medications and injections as per physician’s orders
Perform basic laboratory tests, and collect and process specimens
Assist in patient referrals, ensuring timely follow-up and ongoing care coordination
Educate patients on medications, dietary requirements, and treatment plans
Schedule patient appointments and manage the flow of patients in the office
Manage patient records, ensuring accurate and timely documentation
Answer/return patient phone calls, perform phone triage, and answer patient questions
Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations

Required

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is required
Previous experience in a medical office or clinical setting, preferably in Internal Medicine or primary care
Strong clinical skills, with a solid understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and common medications
Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems; experience with eClinicalWorks is a plus
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on patient care and teamwork
Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
Basic life support (BLS) certification preferred
