ChildServe is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children with special healthcare needs live fulfilling lives. They are seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide personal care, skill development, supervision, and training for children in home and community settings.

Responsibilities

Have fun and work 1:1 with children with special health care needs in the child’s home and/or community
Teach daily living skills that will help make children more independent
Must be able to work without direct supervision
Ongoing training and supervision provided

Qualification

Required

Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED
Basic computer skills and have reliable access to the internet to complete required documentation and online trainings
Good oral and written communication skills and have the ability to accurately document all observations, significant events, and services provided
Must be willing to provide transportation as a Child Serve authorized driver. This includes passing a Motor Vehicle Record Check and car safety check. Must have a valid driver's license
Must have punctual and reliable attendance
Must pass criminal and child abuse background checks
Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing and speaking the English language
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand

Preferred

Experience working with or caring for children with special health care needs
