SCIENCE RESEARCH ASSISTANT INTERN
Florida Memorial University is seeking a Science Research Assistant Intern. The role involves assisting faculty with research projects, learning necessary protocols, and managing research data while supporting the FINS department.

Assisting faculty in performing research on specified projects
Willingness to learn protocols and techniques required by the faculty
Working alongside or under the supervision of faculty to solve research questions using the scientific method
Supporting any technological integration
Experience or interest in promoting research activities via social media and marketing research projects
Organizing data materials in an organized manner using a notebook or log
Meeting with faculty mentor and other students on a regular basis (one/twice monthly) to discuss research results and recommended avenues to take
Preparing solutions, etc., as part of inventory taking process
Maintaining a workspace free of clutter and unnecessary debris
Qualification
Required
Student candidates must declare a major in either biology, chemistry, or health care
Assisting faculty in performing research on specified projects
Willingness to learn protocols and techniques required by the faculty
Working alongside or under the supervision of faculty to solve research questions using the scientific method

Experience or interest in promoting research activities via social media and marketing research projects

Be curious about research project
Read and ask questions of published research similar to project assigned
Enthusiastic to learn new materials/protocols
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to put together a presentation on research findings and present at a formal meeting
All interested students must be in good academic standing in their major, with a 3.00 or above GPA
Develop skills in strategic planning, time management, and academic success within an educational environment
Enhance professional communication, collaboration, and networking capabilities through interactions with internal and external stakeholders
Gain practical experience in managing academic events, student engagement programs, and community outreach initiatives
Cultivate critical-thinking and problem-solving skills relevant to educational leadership roles
Apply ethical decision-making practices and demonstrate professional responsibility in assigned tasks
Ability to handle information of a sensitive and confidential nature in the utmost professional manner
Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, initiative, resourcefulness, and personal accountability
Effective analytical and decision-making skills
Excellent communication (oral and written), organizational, and time management skills
Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse constituents
Attention to detail and adaptability to a changing environment is extremely important as well as dependability
Moderate physical activity. Requires handling objects of average weight up to fifty (50) pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day
Current undergraduate (Junior/Senior level) enrolled in AI, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Management Information Systems or related fields
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated ability to interact with large groups and individuals at all work levels
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and software applications
