LEGAL ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT MANAGER
Moore & Van Allen PLLC is a dynamic and fast-growing full-service law firm of more than 400 attorneys and professionals, seeking an experienced Legal Administrative Support Manager for its Charlotte, NC office. The role is responsible for overseeing and developing Legal Practice Assistants and Paralegals, ensuring efficient workflows and high-quality administrative support to attorneys and clients.

Responsibilities
Direct, monitor, and support the daily activities of LPAs and Paralegals, ensuring attendance, productivity, and quality of work
Provide strong leadership to LPAs and Paralegals. Set clear expectations, foster collaboration, and create a supportive team culture
Review and approve electronic timecards daily/weekly. Provide corrective guidance when needed to ensure compliance with firm policies
Facilitate effective communication between business professionals, attorneys, practice group managers, and other departments. Conduct regular team meetings to share updates, clarify processes, and address concerns
Participate in recruitment, interviewing, and selection of new LPAs and Paralegals. Oversee orientation and integration of new hires
Address and resolve workplace conflicts or performance issues promptly and fairly, escalating to the Director of Administration when appropriate
Recommend and implement process improvements, including attorney/LPA and Paralegal assignments and coverage optimization, to enhance efficiency across practice groups
Develop and deliver training programs to ensure LPAs and Paralegals understand firm policies, procedures, and administrative practices
Conduct 90-day and annual performance evaluations, providing feedback, recognition, and coaching for improvement
Partner with HR to design and execute performance improvement plans when needed
Mentor LPAs and Paralegals to support career growth and professional development
Collaborate with firm leadership to ensure awareness of changes affecting LPAs and Paralegals (e.g., FMLA, benefits, policies)
Ensure all administrative tasks meet firm standards and legal requirements
Develop, maintain, and enforce standard operating procedures for consistency and quality
Provide continued oversight of new hires beyond initial onboarding to ensure proper role integration
Identify ongoing training needs to strengthen skills and align LPA and Paralegal development with firm priorities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree with a major in Business Administration, Human Resources or equivalent required
5-7 years of personnel management experience in a professional environment required
Preferred
Experience in law firm or legal services management preferred
