RN-OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH, Per Diem

They are seeking a Per Diem RN for the Occupational Health department, responsible for providing total nursing care, collaborating with healthcare teams, and ensuring patient education and support.

Responsibilities
Plans, provides and evaluates patient care as a member of the Health Care Team
Collaborates with the MD/NP in the development of the Plan of Care
Assess individual patient and/or family learning needs and institutes teaching methods to enhance pre-illness functioning or continuation of preventative healthcare needs
Regularly assesses nursing care, identifies potential problems, develops nursing interventions and directs implementation of nursing interventions to all Health Care Team members
Performs telephone triage, elicits enough information from patients to wisely assess which of those calls needs immediate attention and which can wait the appropriate length of time
Delegates staff assignments and responsibilities
Understands and assumes responsibility and leadership position within the department
Identifies and appropriately uses chain of command to resolve unit, staff and patient problems
Administers medication in accordance with policy and procedures and standards of care
Demonstrates competency in maintenance and use of logbooks, forms and computer programs required in the operation of the department
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Diploma from an accredited school of nursing
Current NYS licensure
Minimum of one year Medical/Surgical experience and/or Occupational Health experience
Current requirements in CPR
ACLS & CPR must be updated every two years
Unit specific orientation
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds
Moving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting up to fifty (50) pounds
Assist with weights of more than one-hundred (100) pounds
Fine motor skills
