United Wholesale Mortgage is offering a 12-week internship program designed for students interested in the financial and mortgage industry. Interns will gain practical experience in underwriting and risk management, working closely with teams to assess loan applications and analyze risks associated with operations.

Responsibilities

Audit loan files for specific criteria by conducting SWAT reviews, including risk analysis

Create reports and present findings to Senior Leadership

Analyze data to help the business as a whole

Create and enhance training materials

Assist our Underwriting Training team with classroom enrollments and other various data projects

Analyze hiring trends and their impact on the team

Work in Microsoft Office products and PowerBI

Create reporting dashboards to be used by Senior Leadership

Facilitate fun and friendship activities for the team

Assist in conducting risk assessments and evaluations for various business operations and processes

Support the development and implementation of risk management policies and procedures

Conduct research on industry trends and best practices related to risk management

Help analyze data and prepare reports on risk exposures and mitigation strategies

Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on risk management initiatives

Assist in monitoring compliance with risk policies and regulatory requirements

Perform other duties as assigned by members of the Risk team

Required

Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Finance, Auditing, Accounting, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or similar

Graduating with a bachelor's degree in 2026 or 2027 (current junior/senior status)

The ability to work Monday thru Friday, 40-hours a week, fully on-site in Pontiac, MI from May 18th - August 7th
