Responsibilities

Performing simple and complex diagnostic, therapeutic, and interventional cardiovascular and angiographic procedures in the adult and geriatric population
Operate the physiologic equipment in a safe and efficient manner
Position and instruct the patient for the examinations
Anticipate potential safety concerns in the environment of care and intervene as necessary
Participate in educational activities, departmental committees, and other healthcare related projects as assigned
Provide direction and guidance in the proper use, care and control of material resources
Appraise the quality and effectiveness of material and equipment and communicates to responsible individuals
Provide accurate clinical and billing documentation
Utilize interpersonal skills to maximize excellence in customer service, safe patient care, and professionalism
Contribute to a work environment of caring and cooperation among culturally diverse workforce and patient population
Perform other duties as needed and assigned

Required

Graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology
Six months of experience in diagnostic, interventional and special procedure lab
Six months of experience with implants including: ILR, pacemakers, ICDs, CRT-D, dialysis catheters, IVC filters, hybrid Operating Room procedures, and electrophysiology studies with ablations
Clinical rotations may be considered in lieu of experience
Knowledge in cardiovascular and peripheral vascular intervention and procedures done in the Special Procedures Section of Radiology and the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory
Ability and knowledge to handle suction device
Ability to operate Ambu bag and resuscitation devices
Must be able to initiate and manage a 'Code Blue' and emergent situation until additional personnel are able to respond
Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality
Use computer and software programs necessary to the position
Troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment
Relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others
Be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies
Work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure
Lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate

Work independently with minimal supervision

Discern temperature variances through touch
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association
Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification or Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) certificate required within six months of hire
Basic EKG interpretation required within six months of hire

Preferred

Associate's Degree in a related field
Spanish language skills
