Visualization Developer

Loma Linda University Health is a faith-based healthcare institution dedicated to teaching and healing. The Visualization Developer will advise on reporting methodologies, analyze complex system projects, and generate dashboards and reports using data from the Enterprise Data Warehouse.

Responsibilities

Advise data stewards and department leads on reporting methodologies to make operating activities more efficient
Review operating processes and define functional requirements; provide expert architectural guidance on analytics environment
Analyze for implementing major, complex integrated system projects
Perform complex professional and advisory functions for both virtual and physical platforms, to access appropriate information stored in the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and generate a wide variety of dashboards or reports, including management and ad-hoc reports
Collaborate with project managers, business analysts or act as a business analyst at times, may architect visualization solutions and oversee developed solutions deployment
Perform other duties as needed

Required

Bachelor's Degree required
Minimum two years of experience required in one or more of the following (Acute Hospital, Management Services Organization, Medical Group, Independent Physician A, College or University, or other Healthcare related establishment), finance, IT, or Analytical role
Experience may be considered in lieu of Degree
Understanding of Query or scripting languages (T-SQL, PL-SQL, Visual Basic, Java, BASIC, etc.)
Business Intelligence tools (i.e. Tableau, Qlik, Crystal Reports, SAP, Spotfire, Pentaho, Cognos, etc.) or Data Virtualization Platforms (Cisco, HANA, Informatica, etc.)
Knowledge of Data Warehouse architecture and Star Schema Data Modeling
Agile project methodology and practices
Experience with Extract Transform and Load (ETL) tools
Business acumen; good judgment; quick decision making
Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Strong knowledge of project management software such as MS Project, Access, and other project management tools
Relate and communicate positively and effectively with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction
Deal effectively with people and elicit support from other department areas, vendors, and customers
Excellent analytic and documentation skills
Organize technical work; demonstrate excellent planning, problem solving, analysis, and presentation skills; analyze and interpret data, processes and needs based on limited information; make recommendations; manage time effectively and plan and implement objectives effectively
Think critically and work independently; perform basic math and statistical functions; compose written material; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail
Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position

Preferred

Minimum three years of experience in Healthcare, scripting languages or Business Intelligence tools preferred
Understanding of clinical and financial healthcare terminology preferred
