Walmart Canada is seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager to lead high-impact programs within their People Technology engineering organization. This role will involve driving strategic initiatives, influencing architectural decisions, and delivering innovative solutions that enhance Walmart's Global People Systems.

Responsibilities

Own the delivery of large-scale, cross-functional programs that span multiple business units and geographies. Define program vision, success metrics, and execution strategy
Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and product teams to ensure Workday and OpenStack solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with Walmart’s enterprise standards
Influence senior leaders across HR, Tech, and Business functions. Communicate program status, risks, and outcomes with clarity and confidence
Guide the design, integration, and optimization of Workday Recruiting, Reporting, and Core HCM modules. Ensure robust data flows, system uptime, and compliance
Coach Staff TPMs and other team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement
Anticipate and mitigate risks across programs. Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption and minimal disruption
Drive best practices in program tracking, issue resolution, and documentation using tools like Jira, ServiceNow, and Confluence

Required

10+ years of experience leading enterprise-scale HR technology programs, preferably within Walmart or similarly complex environments
Expert-level proficiency in Workday (including Studio, Prism, and Reporting) and OpenStack platforms
Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a track record of influencing across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Advanced knowledge of program management tools and methodologies (Agile, SAFe, etc.)
Demonstrated success in mentoring senior-level TPMs and driving cross-functional alignment
Growth mindset, with a passion for innovation, simplification, and delivering measurable business impact
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related area and 6 years' experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area
Option 2: 8 years' experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area

Preferred

Certification in Project Management
Master's degree in Business Administration, with specialization in strategy, supply chain, finance, information systems, or related area and 4 years' experience in product design
