Sr. Technical Program Manager, Amazon Leo

Responsibilities
Managing the lifecycle of a complex cross-functional program with considerable impact
Focusing on a single product in a critical technology area or managing larger initiatives that span organizations or geographies
Responsible for the delivery of large and complex projects that may or may not be tied to a larger program
Managing the roadmap for an organization, including contributing to OP1/OP2 narratives and ownership of organizational goals
Accountable for the overall strategy and driving teams to deliver
Defining the program (mission, vision, tenets), setting objectives, analyzing data, driving improvements that are quantified with metrics, and influencing resource allocation
Driving mindful discussions that lead to crisp decisions to align business and technical stakeholder needs
Providing context for business/technology choices and a long-term perspective
Partnering with customers and engineering teams to determine project priorities
Using technical judgment to question proposals and test assumptions
Enlisting Senior/Principal Engineer to ensure architecture(s) scale to match business cases
Making smart trade-offs (e.g., time vs. effort vs. features)
Creating plans with clear, measurable success criteria
Communicating progress and outcomes clearly
Overseeing the gap between teams, processes, and system architectures
Helping teams reduce exposure to classic failure modes
Solving ambiguous problems and proactively identifying and mitigating risks
Demonstrating good judgment in how and when to escalate issues
Being data-driven and regularly reviewing metrics
Ensuring the program stays aligned with organizational objectives
Understanding technical program management and engineering best practices
Assessing development processes, test plans, and operations/maintenance requirements
Working with teams to improve concurrent project delivery
Streamlining and/or eliminating excess process
Influencing teams to decouple from dependencies and eliminate architecture problems
Writing effective narratives and presenting them to Directors and VPs
Delivering the right things with limited guidance
Finding the best way forward in discordant views and influencing others
Actively recruiting and developing others by mentoring in the organization and/or at the location
Providing constructive feedback for engineers, managers, and other peers
Qualification
Required
5+ years of technical product or program management experience
7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent
Preferred
5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
8+ Experience in Aviation or Consumer Electronics Program Management
