IoT Architect

MxD is a nonprofit organization focused on enhancing U.S. manufacturing competitiveness through technology and innovation. The IoT Architect will assess government-owned manufacturing facilities and develop strategies for integrating IoT solutions, while also educating stakeholders and managing project requirements.

Responsibilities

Be able to describe what IoT Architecture encompasses, how to assess opportunities, and steps to implement and sustain solutions
Assess manufacturing operations and apply root cause analysis for modernization opportunities and recommend solutions
Create and update technical documents, including manuals, reports, and presentations
Aptitude to consult with members and government stakeholders on IoT Solutions Architecture, especially for providing solutions to specific OIB opportunities
Provide IoT Solution Architecture solutions to existing real-life problems as required
Generate project requirements for industry Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
Present and provide expertise for MxD and industry forums, webinars, and other venues related to modernization
Project manage the progress of projects and other key deliverables
Interface with MxD commercial and academic members on project design and implementation as well as industry experts
Develop ROM (Rough order Magnitude) and detailed budgets for the design and implementation of IoT Solutions for various use cases and project

Required

Minimum of 3 year experience in IoT or related field required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills; excellent analytical and problem-solving skills along with excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to interface with the stakeholders of all levels at OIB facilities, including floor operators, plant management, and uniformed military officers
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills; ability to answer process and technology-related questions on the fly
Familiarity with the Purdue Model network architecture
Ability to develop budgets for the design and implementation of IoT or modernization solutions
Hands-on, team-oriented, and committed to the advancement of manufacturing technologies in the U.S
Ability for travel up to 30%
Ability and desire to work in a highly dynamic environment
Must be available to work onsite
