Sales Tax Project Manager

Responsibilities

Serve as the County’s representative throughout the full lifecycle of transportation projects
Manage engineering consultants, providing oversight and guidance on design and construction matters
Review and negotiate scopes of work and fee estimates for professional services contracts
Monitor and manage project schedules and budgets to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery
Review and approve consultant invoices, construction pay applications, and other project-related expenses
Conduct design-phase plan reviews to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines
Coordinate and participate in project meetings with County staff, consultants, regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and the public
Meet with property owners and stakeholders to discuss proposed improvements, ensuring compliance with County standards
Prepare construction bid documents; attend construction progress meetings; perform site inspections to verify contract compliance; and review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications
Prepare and deliver project status and progress reports to internal and external stakeholders
Maintain complete, accurate, and up-to-date project documentation
Provide civil engineering consultation and support to other County departments as needed
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university
Five (5) years of related engineering experience
Professional Engineer (PE) registration in the State of South Carolina
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license for South Carolina with safe driving record

Preferred

Master's Degree in Civil Engineering
Transportation design experience
AutoCAD or MicroStation training
GIS and AutoCAD Civil 3D knowledge
