Avionics Engineering Technician

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with aircraft and missile requirements
Collaborate with other engineers and professionals on developing, producing, testing, and maintaining aircraft
Conduct repairs and installations
Test internal systems and check quality assurance based on understanding of aircraft and computer systems
Analyze new product designs to ensure efficiency and safety
Perform other duties, as assigned

Required

Associate's degree in a related field of study, at least 10 years of relevant experience
Ability to understand and interpret complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications
Instrumentation experience using standard laboratory test equipment, other measurement equipment, hand tools, and power tools
Experience with 3-D CAD software and generating wiring schematics
Basic skills with avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, and wiring installation
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience pinning/de-pinning connectors, crimping, and chafe protection
Troubleshooting skills
U.S. Citizenship required
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance required

Preferred

Understanding of soldering techniques and/or J-Std certified
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, NASA, the US Department of Defense or US Military
A&P Certified
Experience with digital or analog circuit analysis
