Intern - Forest Health (Summer)
The State of South Dakota is offering a summer internship opportunity with the Department of Agriculture & Natural Resources. The intern will assist with forest insect and disease monitoring, mountain pine beetle surveys, and the creation of educational materials regarding pest management.

Produce a "Don't Move Firewood" poster
Review and update pest bulletins
Qualification
Required
APPLICANT MUST BE A CURRENT PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME STUDENT (MINIMUM OF 6 CREDIT HOURS) IN UPCOMING SEMESTER OR IN THE IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING SEMESTER
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply
By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program
Applicants must have a valid driver's license
Preferred
Specific Forestry coursework, such as dendrology, forest insect and disease, and general forest management is preferred
Preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions
